The 2012 TBRA Board of Directors met on January 22nd to discuss the future of cycling in Tennessee. Based on this discussion, the board is proud to announce several key changes that will continue the growth our sport throughout the state.

The 2012 TBRA Mountain Bike schedule was released today, featuring 17 TBRA points races at nine different venues.

The schedule features many of the classic venues, as well as a return to the popular Haw Ridge course in Oak Ridge . Also on the schedule is brand new east Tennessee event at Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport.

TBRA is pleased to announce the road race season schedule for 2012. There are 28 race dates on the calendar, with the possibility of a couple of more points events being added. TBRA does expect to add multiple non-points criterium events usually held by TCRC and NashvilleCyclist.

It's a new year, and the push is on in 2012 to get to the minimum of 1000 pre-registrations needed to make the Share the Road license plate a reality. The countdown is on for the final CX weekend of 2011 and the final points race of the 2011/2012 CX BAR series.

The weekend kicks off Saturday Dec 17 with Race #1 in the new KnoxVelo series at a brand new venue in Alcoa TN. (race info here).

Racing will wrap up in January with two full weekends of racing in Knoxville.
