The Charter Communication Time Trial and Criterium weekend in Rutledge has been condensed to a single day of racing on Saturday March 27, 2010.

The TBRA website has recently been updated with a new forum software package, and the previous forum has been shut down. Everyone is encouraged to visit the new forum and register for a user account.

A reminder about several important upcoming events in the region for officials and promoters:

Sun Feb 21: Moto Ref Clinic in Atlanta.

Sat Feb 27: Promoters Seminar near Cookeville.

Sat Mar 6: Officials Clinic in Pleasant Hill (just west of Crossville) (updated with directions to Pleasant Hill Elementary School)

Chuck Hodge, a National Comissaire with USA Cycling, will be teaching a Level C Motoref clinic in the Atlanta area on February 21, 2010. You do not need a motorcycle license for this clinic but you do need this certification to be an official riding as a passenger on a motorcycle.

USA Cycling's Coaching Education Department is putting on a FREE webinar on Feb. 16 aimed at helping a cyclist prepare for his or her first race.

The 2009/2010 BAR standings for the TBRA Cyclocross Series wrapped up under epic conditions this weekend with the races in Johnson City.

The Tri-Cities Road Club hosted the 2009/2010 TN State Cyclocross Championships over the weekend in Johnson City, and 10 riders came home with state championship jerseys.

While the impending winter storm may cause you to put the top back on the convertible, the CX races will go on as planned this weekend on Saturday (Jan 30) and Sunday (Jan 31) in Johnson City. Despite travel conditions that are far from ideal, it appears that the worst of the weather may pass sometime on Saturday (although I don't even play a meteorologist on TV). Regardless, please use common sense to ensure your safety when travelling to and from the event, and have a crosstastic weekend.
